LEGO Collectible Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series

The new Collectible Minifigure Series has been released and it is purely focused on characters from the new The Lego Movie.  Once again it is a mix of 16 different minifigs all in random blind bags.  Most stores are selling them for $2.99 USD each, but Im sure Toys R Us marks them up a bit. Ive got a few of them so far and so far my favorites are Abraham Lincoln, Shakespeare, the Panda and the Barista.  Who is your favorite?

Here is what lego has to say:

Collect every mystery minifigure in The LEGO Movie Series!
With 16 special minifigures featured in The LEGO® Movie, this is one LEGO Minifigures collection as you’ve never seen it before! There’s Emmet, with his exclusive construction helmet, Wild West Wyldstyle, the Master Builder and the rest of the cast: President Business, Scribble-Face Bad Cop, Marsha Queen of the Mermaids, Abraham Lincoln, Velma Staplebot, William Shakespeare, Panda Guy, Gail the Construction Worker, Mrs. Scratchen-Post, Wiley Fusebot, Calamity Drone, Larry the Barista, Taco Tuesday Guy and “Where are my pants?” Guy. Each minifigure comes in a sealed ‘mystery’ bag with its own special accessories, display plate and collector's leaflet. Buy a bag, open it up and see which one you get!
  • Every The LEGO® Movie minifigure comes with a display plate and accessories that you’ll recognize from the movie
  • A must-have for LEGO® minifigure collectors and fans of the movie
  • Open the bag and find out who you’ve got!
  • PLEASE NOTE: Only 1 of 16 individual minifigures in each 'mystery' bag. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate requests for specific minifigures – and some minifigures may be more difficult to find than others. If purchasing multiple bags, you may receive 2 or more of the same minifigures – trade with your friends to collect them all! A maximum of 16 minifigures may be ordered per address, per household

Want to build Iron Man's Labratory?

Have you ever wanted to build Iron Man's Laboratory LEGO has made a handy instruction sheet on how to build one.  With their design there is a place for every type of armor, lots of helpful mechs and a staging area where Tony Stark suits up.  Its a cool design, cool enough that I wish they would have made it an actual boxed LEGO set.  You can download the full instruction .PDF right here.  Have fun.

New Superman LEGO Sets

This summer a new Superman movie is being released called Man of Steel.  It come out on June 14th, but before that three new LEGO sets based on the movie are coming out.  We have found pics of the boxes and they look pretty rad.

76003 - Superman: Battle of Smallville - 418 Pieces - $49.99 MSRP
Minifigures included: Superman, Colonel Hardy, General Zod, Faora and Tor-An

76009 - Superman: Black Zero Escape - 168 Pieces - $19.99 MSRP
Minifigures included: Superman, General Zod, Lois Lane

76002 - Superman: Metropolis Showdown - 119 Pieces - $12.99 MSRP
Minifigures Included: Superman, General Zod

Being the Minifigure collector that I am, I will probably pick up the largest set and just try and find Lois Lane somewhere on the secondary market.  Why does General Zod come in all three sets? I have no clue.

LEGO Lone Ranger Sets are here!

The much anticipated LEGO Lone Ranger Sets have arrived!  I wont chit chat about them a whole lot, I'll just give you some basic info and pics for all six sets.  All of these sets are available on Amazon.com with free shipping.

I'm going to be the proud owner of the Calvary Builders Set and the Stagecoach Escape.  That will give me a good mix of minifigs without going overboard on price.  If I decide to go overboard (which I usually do) I'll get the Colby City Showdown, I really like the look of those buildings.

I love reading comments from other LEGO fans.  Please leave a comment letting know which set you like the most and why.

LEGO Minecraft!

Mojang and the LEGO group have finally shown off the first official pieces of Minecraft LEGO to the world.
The set will be released this summer for $34.99 in the US, each set will contain four modular cubes and the surface of each can be removed to reveal mines and resources hidden underneath. Steve and a Creeper will also be included in the set.
Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Perrson said at a press conference today:
“I played a lot with Lego bricks as a child, and that’s influenced how I make games. I prefer games with levels that are modifiable. I don’t like static levels. There are problems of scaling. Minecraft has huge long tunnels, and you can’t really fit that in to a living room. But I think the Lego guys have created something that’s really great, that really feels like Minecraft.
